Dear Friend,
I know what it is like to be a “donor”. As an owner of a family business, I received between two and three requests for help each week for more than forty years. We never turned anyone down. Sometimes it was very gratifying to be able to help and other times … not so much. Even now, after closing the business more than thirteen years ago, we have a couple of people who donate their money and time to support our current campaign.
Our congregation (Beit Tefillah Messianic Congregation, Harrisburg PA), or BTMC has been providing nonfood household items for economically challenged families in the Harrisburg area for more than five years. Our current campaign, “Helping the Harrisburg Family”, is working with the weekly food distribution site at Fourteenth and Market St. We are averaging approximately two hundred and twenty families each week. The cost for purchasing these items is approximately five hundred dollars / event. Because we are small and our income is limited we struggle to provide these items every week. As of this writing we are averaging two or three times a month. Your generosity will be appreciated in whatever way you choose to become a partner.
One more thing: I personally guarantee you that every penny, every roll of toilet paper or anything that you choose to donate will only be used to help those that need your help.
Thanks for your help. Let me know if you would like to join us some Tuesday morning. It will change your life!
Sincerely,
Ron Memmi
